NagaWorld Protesters Who Continued to Protest Will be Send to Quarantine Center

PHNOM PENH: Phnom Penh Municipal Administration Ordered All NagaWorld Protesters to Stop Protesting and do quarantine for 7 Days. In the case of continuing to protest, the authorities will take action and send them to quarantine center in Phnom Penh, Prek Pnov, and face legal penalties.

The move comes after a team of doctors from the Phnom Penh Municipal Health Department found a series of NagaWorld protesters positive for Coivd-19, especially Omicron variant which is particularly the worrisome.

Today, doctors found 29 new positive cases.

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration has requested that the protesters, who have not yet taken their Covid samples, to take all the samples and be isolated in quarantine for seven days, and stop the protest.

In a statement issued on 6 February, Phnom Penh Capital Hall stated: "In case of non-compliance with the health rules, the competent authorities will take administrative measures to send stubborn individuals to quarantine center in Phnom Penh (Prek Pnov) in Pursuant to Sub-Decree No. 27 dated 18 February 2021, on measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, it is defined as "Will be fined from 1 million to 5 million riel and will be punished according to the criminal law in force."

Authorities will start disinfection spray For the means of transportation and public places that the protesters used, such as the bus that the protesters used to travel to collect samples of the protesters' vehicles, food and bathrooms.

The Capital Administration requested the Department of Labor to cooperate with the 14 district administrations to monitor and take action at the residences of the protesters of the former local NagaWorld employees in order to instruct them to take samples on time.

In addition, the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, the Phnom Penh Gendarmerie Command, the Chamkar Mon District Administration, the Daun Penh District Administration and the Phnom Penh Municipal Health Department shall take administrative and legal measures against those who continue to gather without complying health measures impede the work of physicians and authorities in accordance with the law on measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and other serious and dangerous infectious diseases and Relevant legal documents in force "There are fines and imprisonment without exception".

A series of positive cases of Nagaworld protesters were discovered after authorities recently discovered a positive case of a pregnant woman who was a member of the protesters and positive of Covid-19's Omicron.

As of 6 February, authorities had identified 34 protesters carrying the global pandemic disease.
